Clostridium Difficile, usually shortened to C-Diff, is a bacteria that causes severe diarrhoea and other intestinal problems when the competing bacteria in the gut have been wiped out by antibiotics. C-diff claims.
It has become a problem in many hospitals as part of the “superbug” issue – infections that have become more prevalent with the wider use of antibiotics. C-Diff can be incredibly dangerous and even life-threatening, particularly in children or the elderly and those who have undergone surgery.
Poor hygiene can also be a contributing factor and anyone who has contracted the infection during a stay in hospital or a care home should find out if they can make a C-Diff claim.
